Environmental crime is estimated at over 200 billion US Dollars. That’s 10 000 times more than the amount spent combating it. The Department of Environmental Affairs is meeting Interpol’s Pollution Crime Working Group and Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Committee Advisory Board to discuss ways of mitigating the scourge.
