Eskom says irregular expenditure could increase again in the 2019 financial year as a result of transgressions of the past. On Monday the power utility reported that has uncovered nearly R20 billion in irregular expenditure dating as far back as 2012. Eskom’s Irregular Expenditure line item went up from R3bn in 2017 to R19.6 billion in 2018. Sixty percent of incidents relate to administrative non-compliance.
