East African border post revamps | Infrastructure news

Several One Stop Border Posts (OSBP) in East Africa are in the final phases of construction.

The OSBP is in operation on the Tanzanian side of the Holili and Taveta border between Tanzania and Kenya. It is expected that the Taveta border post in Kenya will be completed during May.

Construction is still underway at the Namanga OSBP which is part of the Arusha-Namanga-Athi River road project.

The OSBP at the Kabanga and Kobero centre, on the border between Tanzanian-Burundi is only expected to be operational in June this year with the Tanzania and Rwanda’s Rusumo OSBP project is expected to be complete by November.

The following OSBPs are fully operational namely on the Sirari and Isebania border separating Tanzania and Kenya in the Mara region and at the Mutukula and Mutukula border separating Tanzania and Uganda in the Kagera region.
