Mozambique to refurbish 300 rail cars | Infrastructure news

Mozambique’s rail and port company:  Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM) is reviving its refurbishing programme which will see 300 rail cars refurbished.

This is being done to boost the fleet of available cars, increase train capacity, mainly along the Machipanda line with a view of attracting more cargo, most of which is currently carried by road.

The 300 rail cars will be refurnished in the city of Beira, in Mozambique’s Sofala province, as part of a project involving specialised institutions from Mozambique, Zimbabwe and China.
