3rd annual think pedestrian golf day | Infrastructure news

The 3rd Annual Think Pedestrian Golf Day will be held on the 21 October 2014 at the Serengeti Golf Estate.The Minister of Transport, Dipuo Peters will address guests during the evening gala function.

The Think Pedestrian Golf Day, spearheaded by Eqstra Fleet Management, is an official annual fundraising event to benefit Think Pedestrian campaign projects. Think Pedestrian is a United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety aimed at drastically reducing pedestrian accident fatalities by 2020. South Africa was one of the first countries to adopt the campaign which is also supported by the Department of Transport in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory.

To date, over R1 million rand has been raised and donated to deserving projects identified by the Department of Transport. The funds collected at this year’s event will be utilised for improving infrastructure, road safety education and awareness campaigns throughout the country.

The golf event is a full day programme with variety of enjoyable activities to ensure a memorable experience for all participants. Renowned South African golfer, Dale Hayes, will act as MC for the event.
