French shipping line signs MoA in Angola | Infrastructure news

French shipping line CMA CGM, signed a memorandum of agreement with Angola’s Multiparques group in December 2014 for the operation of the new terminal at the port of Lobito in Angola.

“Lobito is Angola’s second port and its location and train transportation connections make it a strategic entry point in West Africa,” said Alexis Michel, CMA CGM group logistics and reefer senior vice president. He added that the new railroad upgrade out of the port would also link the city to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia’s Copperbelt mining region.

The new terminal is expected to be operational in 2015.
