Cummins SA kicks-off national power tour | Infrastructure news

Cummins South Africa has embarked on a National City-to-City tour of the country in a highly visible red International truck to create awareness of its products and service, particularly in power generation.

Leaving the company’s Johannesburg office this week, the truck will visit Durban, Bloemfontein and Cape Town on a 3 600km round-trip journey.

While the initiative is the first of its kind in South Africa, the company has previously used this method to introduce its products to its customers around the world.

Current and potential customers will have the opportunity to interact with the company’s technology in each destination city, with power generation experts from the company on hand to network and engage with customers.

One side of the 17m truck’s trailer is fitted with reinforced glass which showcases the C90D5 diesel generator and C315N5C gas generator, while the other side acts as a moving billboard. The vehicle itself is powered by a Cummins 475 ISX engine.

Cummins provides both gas and diesel-powered generators, with individual stand-alone units from 8 kVA to 3 750 kVA. The range caters for any home or business application, regardless of site location.
