Gauteng dam levels remain above 100% mark | Infrastructure news

The Gauteng provincial water storage has shown some signs of stability as the weekly report by the Department of Water and Sanitation shows that dam levels are above 100%.

They are curretly sitting at 103.0%.

Despite the improvement and stability, water conservation efforts need to be doubled and water users must be encouraged to inculcate the culture of saving water at all times.

Currently, the Bon Accord Dam is at 106.6% (slightly down from last week’s 107.2%). During the same period last year, the dam stood at 109.1%.

The Reitvlei Dam slightly declined as it recorded at 99.7%, compared to last week when the dam was at 100.0%.

Roodeplaat Dam has shown a minor decrease (from 100.5% last week to 100.4% this week). Bronkhorstspruit Dam shows a slight decline but the dam remains above the 100% mark.

This week the dam stands at 100.5% following a decline from last week’s 100.9%.
