DWS delivers 45 water tanks to fight COVID-19 in Bushbuckridge | Infrastructure news

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has delivered 45 water tanks to the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality to aid the municipality in ensuring reliable water supply to the communities of this rural municipality.

This is meant to ensure that communities are able to practice good hygiene and regularly wash their hands in an effort to curb the spread of the
deadly coronavirus.

The delivery of the water tanks is a continuation of the Department’s intervention, which started with the delivery of water tankers to ensure reliable and sustainable water supply to communities, especially during these trying times of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The water tanks are being distributed and placed at strategic places to ensure people have access to reliable water supply closer to their households.

The Department urges the communities to take ownership of the equipment and infrastructure and guard against any forms of vandalism.

The Department also pleads with the community to monitor the water tankers to prevent corruption and report any misuse.
