South Africa’s youth have their say on climate change | Infrastructure news

In spite of their increased vulnerability to climate change, children cannot be viewed simply as victims. Children have the right to be heard on climate change and to be involved in the discussions and planning of mitigation and adaptation strategies, policies and plans.

There are already a number of initiatives in South Africa through which children are participating in the climate change agenda. These should be strengthened to create a solid foundation for effective participation by children on climate change issues that can feed into, and strengthen policy and national response.
