Inaugural lecture of Prof Ruppel will be at University of Stellenbosch | Infrastructure news

The expansion of mankind, both in numbers and per capita exploitation of the earth’s resources, has been astounding. During the past three centuries the world’s population increased tenfold to 7 billion, accompanied by a growth in cattle population to 1.5 billion. Urbanisation has increased tenfold in the past century, which means it won’t be long until we are deemed to exhaust the fossil fuels that were generated over millions of years.

Intersections of Law and Cooperative Global Climate Governance: Challenges in the Anthropoceneis the inaugural lecture of Prof Oliver Ruppel at the University of Stellenbosch on Tuesday, 19 March.

The lecture will take place at the OuHoofgebou, on the corner of Ryneveld and Victoria streets, at 17:30.
