Rethink Amanzi – Securing Our Future: Call for Abstracts for the WISA 2026 Biennial Conference & Exhibition - Infrastructure news

The Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA) invites professionals, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders across the water sector to contribute to one of the most important conversations shaping our region’s future – the WISA 2026 Biennial Conference & Exhibition, themed “Rethink Amanzi – Securing Our Future.”

Taking place in 2026, this flagship event will unite voices from across Southern Africa and beyond to tackle one of the most pressing challenges of our time: ensuring sustainable and equitable water management for all.

Rethink Amanzi – Securing Our Future

Water remains the foundation of socio-economic development, public health, and environmental sustainability. Yet, across Southern Africa, our water systems face increasing strain – aging infrastructure, population growth, climate variability, pollution, and inequitable access all threaten the stability of this vital resource.

Under the banner “Rethink Amanzi – Securing Our Future,” the WISA 2026 Conference calls for a paradigm shift in how water is valued, governed, financed, used, and safeguarded. It challenges delegates to move beyond traditional, siloed approaches and instead embrace integrated, innovative, and inclusive solutions that ensure water security for generations to come.
