From 9 to 12 November 2025, more than 1,500 water and sanitation leaders, innovators, policymakers and practitioners from across Africa, the Global South, and beyond will gather at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg for the highly anticipated AWSISA Africa & Global South Water and Sanitation Dialogue. The Dialogue, convened under the theme “Towards Sustainable Water and Sanitation Security in Africa,” stands as one of the continent’s most influential platforms for transforming the future of water and sanitation.
Premier of Gauteng Province, Honourable Panyaza Lesufi, as the host Premier for the Dialogue, will be one of the keynote speaker. His participation is a strong signal of provincial, local and national commitment to advancing infrastructure, governance, and innovation in the water sector.“This Dialogue is not just another event,” says Mr Ramateu Monyokolo, AWSISA Chairperson, “it is a catalyst for collective action. We are building a legacy of collaboration, accountability, and transformation.”AWSISA’s global footprint continues to grow, with landmark cooperation agreements signed in recent months:
- In August 2025, AWSISA joined Minister of Water and Sanitation, Hon. Pemmy Majodina, in Finland to reinforce bilateral collaboration. The Finnish Water Forum and Ministry of Foreign Trade will be sending a high-level delegation to the Dialogue.
- During World Water Week in Stockholm, AWSISA and Water Sweden signed a historic MoU, Water Sweden’s first global cooperation agreement, laying the foundation for shared knowledge, joint research, and project partnerships.
