Role overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Revit Draughtsperson to join our Structural Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate structural drawings and Building Information Models (BIM) for a wide range of building and infrastructure projects using Autodesk Revit. Working closely with structural engineers and project teams, the draughtsperson will assist in delivering high-quality documentation from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce structural drawings and models using Autodesk Revit.
- Develop detailed reinforcement, concrete and structural steel drawings.
- Prepare general arrangement, detailing, sections and construction drawings.
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D structural models in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate structural models with architectural and MEP disciplines.
- Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
- Revise drawings in accordance with engineer comments and project changes.
- Maintain drawing registers and revision histories.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant South African standards, company standards and client requirements.
- Assist with quantity take-offs and schedules where required.
- Attend project coordination meetings when necessary.
- Support engineers during design development and construction documentation phases.
- Ensure all documentation is completed within project deadlines.
- Maintain project documentation in accordance with company quality management procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- ND in Civil Engineering or related Draughting qualification
- Proven track record in structural drafting.
- Revit and AutoCAD proficiency is essential.
- 3 + years Revit working experience in multidisciplinary design consultancy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
- The ability to think outside the box.
- Strong time management skills as you will be working on multiple projects.
- Be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness to travel to project sites when necessary
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
