David Willima
David Willima is a researcher with a focus on maritime security, blue economy and ocean governance, climate risk and human security and has worked to promote maritime security and the blue economy as policy priorities with organisations such as the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD), the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA). David is also passionate about driving youth involvement in ocean governance and has represented the continent in various international ocean governance platforms. David holds a Master’s degree in Security Studies from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
