Role Information
- Job title: Mechanical BIM Modeler – Building Services
- Position: Permanent
- Job purpose: BVi Consulting Engineers Gauteng (Pty) Ltd has a vacancy for a Mechanical BIM Modeler in their Pretoria office.
- Location: Pretoria, Gauteng.
Key Responsibilities:
- Form part of an existing design office
- Draughting mechanical services (HVAC, WETS and Fire) in Revit & AutoCAD
- Prepare detailed HVAC, Fire, Wet services drawings, sections, and coordinated layouts.
- Set up, manage, and maintain Revit families, templates, and standards.
- Extract quantities and assist in cost estimation where required.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve design and coordination issues.
- Review and validate models for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
- Guide and support draugthing team in the office
- Technical support to Senior Project Managers & Project Directors
- Site inspections and compiling of snag lists related to mechanical Services
Minimum Requirements:
- Draughting Certificate is essential
- Diploma in Mechanical will be an added advantage
- Min 5-7 years relevant industry related experience
- Exposure to HVAC load calculation software such as Carrier HAP will be advantageous
- Experience in BIM Modelling, Revit MEP and AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of SANS 10400- “O & T” standards and local compliance requirements
- Proven ability to create and manage Revit families and parametric components
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and coordination processes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
- Must be proficient in MS Office packages
- Must have worked with Mechanical Building Services, HVAC, WETS and Fire
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Technical understanding of how MEP Services work
- Strong teamwork skills required
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound knowledge of statutory standards and regulations
- Willing to relocate to Pretoria – Gauteng
