New CFO for Transnet | Infrastructure news

Transnet has announced that Anoj Singh has been appointed its new chief financial officer.

According to a statement by spokesmanViwe Tlaleane, Singh will work in conjunction with chief executive, Brian Molefe, as an executive director of Transnet.

Singh joined Transnet’s freight rail division as a financial manager in 2003 and has been acting chief financial officer for Transnet since 2009.

In his role as chief financial officer, Singh will manage all aspects of the company’s financial strategy and risks, and oversee funding and capital investment programmes.

“… He will also be responsible for the procurement function which includes Transnet’s supplier development initiatives and broad-based black economic empowerment,” Tlaleane said in the statement.

Singh’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Accountancy degree and a post graduate diploma in accounting obtained from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
