Gibb wins PRASA signalling contract | Infrastructure news

Engineering company Gibb has been awarded a four year contract by the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) to provide technical support and supervision services for the signalling project in Durban.

The contract is valued at R63 million.

All stations in the Durban area will undergo the re-signalling project.

Along with the re-signalling, Gibb will be responsible for training PRASA engineers and will also supervise construction of the project which includes a new integrated control centre.

Gibb are more than qualified for the contract as they have already worked with PRASA before on numerous other projects such as the re-signalling of suburban lines in Gauteng in 2011.
