Abram Masango Suspended group executive for capital

Eskom has confirmed that another senior executive has been suspended amidst the utility’s investigations into allegations of corruption.

EWN on Thursday reported that Abraham Masango, group executive for capital, was up for suspension for allegedly receiving kickbacks on some of Eskom’s key projects including the Kusile Power Station.

“There have been some reports recently about him and three other officials who allegedly have received some kickbacks from Kusile project. So the management of this company is trying to establish the facts around this matter,” Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe told EWN.

Shocking testimony in Eskom inquiry

Meanwhile things are heating up in the Eskom inquiry with suspended head of legal Suzanne Daniels offering a shocking testimony about a shady meeting she was asked to attend with Ajay Gupta, a deputy minister and Duduzane Zuma.

Daniels, who was suspended for alleged misconduct, says the real reason for her suspension was an internal report she compiled for Public Enterprises minister Lynne Brown on the role of senior executives in the controversial Trillian, McKinsey deal.
