The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and Dangote Nigeria Plc have earmarked N15 billion Naira, for the training of technicians to ensure the production of quality cement across the country.

This is according to a report by the Daily Independent in Lagos. According to the newspaper the ITF Director-General, Mrs Juliet Chukkas-Onaeko, revealed this at an interactive forum with stakeholders in Lagos on Monday.

Chukkas-Onaeko said the training was in support of the transformation agenda of the Federal Government and the Nigerian Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP).

The ITF Memorandum of Understanding with Dangote is a move to support the transformation agenda and the NIRP.

“ITF has also embarked on a skills gap survey that will span over five to 10 years to see what skills will work better in the future.
“The training is targeted at 3 000 technicians from each state and also the six geopolitical zones,” she said.

Chukkas-Onaeko also said that the interactive session was to further listen to the stakeholders in order to serve them better.
We are in the digital age and ITF cannot afford to lack behind.

“All our offices across the country will be fully computerised to achieve an automated transaction between our members in the Organised Private Sector.”

She said that ITF was also providing free training for Small Medium and Enterprises (SMEs) to assist them to improve their human capacity.

The director-general further said that the fund also intend to provide free consultancy services to the SMEs.
