These projects are implemented through the DEA’s Environmental Protection and Infrastructure Programme (EPIP). Implementation of these projects uses labour intensive methods as per the requirements of Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).The projects will lead to, amongst other things, construction of a fully-fledged landfill site with an office, weighbridge, landfill compactor, sorting facility, a Buy-back centre as well as the supply of functional equipment. Furthermore, the other project will lead to the development of environmental friendly recreational parks in Ga Mopedi and Bathlaros as well as an Eco-Centre.
