The CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards are all set to take place on 12 August 2015 at Vodaworld in Midrand.

Awards will be handed out in the following categories Engineering Excellence for projects with a value of less than R50 million, projects between R50 million and R250 million, and projects with a value of over R250 million.

Finalists for projects with a value of less than R50 million

  • Kirstenbosch Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway – ‘Boomslang’
  • Izinga Phase 2A: the construction of roads and civil services
  • Wallacedene Public Transport Facility
  • Emergency Repairs and Stabilisation of the Franschhoek Pass
  • New microbiological laboratory

Finalists for projects between R50 million and R250 million

  • Steyn City Development
  • Rehabilitation of Main Road between Muizenberg and Clovelly Road, Clovelly Phase 2
  • Sundays River Bridge
  • Improvements to Ballito Interchange (KM 6.66) on National Route 2 Section 27
  • Kwadukuza Electricity Priority Projects
  • Preekstoel Water Treatment Works
  • Wemmershoek Wastewater Treatment Works
  • Waterval Waste Disposal Facility
  • Bronkhorstspruit Biogas project                

Finalists for projects with a value of over R250 million

  • Brandspruit mine Impumelelo
  • Umgeni Road Interchange upgrade project
  • The improvement of National Route 7 Section 1 between Melkbos Intersection and Atlantis Intersection
  • Newtown Junction
  • The Point
  • CD West Bulk Storage Facility project
  • Medupi Power Station
  • Pelican Park Integrated Housing Development
  • Acid Mine Drainage Project – Central Basin Treatment Plant
Other categories include Best International Project, Visionary Client of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Business Excellence, Mentoring Company of the Year and Young Engineer of the Year.
