The IFAT Environmental Technology Forum – Water, Sewage, Refuse and Recycling – Solutions for the Mining and Construction Industry will take place for the first time from September 15 to 18, 2015 co-located with BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA. Messe München International and its subsidiary MMI South Africa (Pty) Ltd. are organising the event.
Gerhard Gerritzen, deputy managing director of Messe München, explained the opportunities of the local market: “Mining in South Africa is one of the ‘key waste contributors’; according to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), approximately 315 million tons of waste – mainly contaminated sewage – must be disposed of every year. The IFAT Environmental Technology Forum picks up from there and brings suppliers and consumers of innovative solutions and technologies in the areas of water, sewage, refuse and recycling together.” The forum will also be supported by an adjacent exhibition. Good foot trafficThe organizers expect area occupancy of around 3,000 square meters as well as 60 exhibitors and 2 000 visitors.
Co-locating the event with the already successfully established International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines and Construction Vehicles is sure to provide substantial synergies for both exhibitors and visitors. In spite of site dependency to BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA, the IFAT Environmental Technology Forum will be a component of the IFAT brand family. The essential features remain the same as the German event, including water and sewage treatment, water distribution and sewers, refuse disposal, recycling, air pollution control, noise reduction, measuring, control and laboratory technology as well as services such as science, research and technology transfer.
