IWMSA has made the decision to call off WasteCon | Infrastructure news

The Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA) has made the decision to call off WasteCon which was scheduled for 09 to 11 February 2021.

This decision has been made in light of the current COVID-19 regulations and restrictions on events. We are complying with the government’s decision to limit mass gatherings and as an organisation commit to safeguarding the health and safety of all delegates.

We would like to take this opportunity to highlight our exciting calendar of events for 2021, which will proceed once COVID-19 regulations have been eased and events become a lower risk.

Throughout the year we will also be hosting a number of different virtual waste management training sessions and events, so you can attend these in the comfort of your own home. We implemented our virtual sessions last year and received positive feedback from attendees.

On the 03 November 2021, the IWMSA will be hosting our Landfill and Waste Treatment Conference which will bring the landfill and alternative waste treatment industries together to learn about the latest technology and developments in our sector. This has always been a popular event on our calendar, and we promise to build on the success of previous years.

Please save the date for Landfill and Waste Treatment 2021 and look out for the announcement to be advertised shortly.
The Eastern Cape branch is also planning a waste conference that will take place on 28 October 2021. All details of this event will be shared with members shortly.
