South Africa Set To Host The National Construction Summit 2025 - Driving Reform, Delivery, And Confidence In The Construction Sector - Infrastructure news

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) and the Construction Industry Development Board (cidb) invite members of the media to the National Construction Summit 2025 to be held from 13–14 November 2025 at the Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg, Gauteng.

Under the theme “Unlocking Infrastructure Delivery: Raising Construction Industry Performance”, this 2nd annual Summit will bring together leaders from government, business, labour, and civil society to discuss, amongst others, improving efficiency of infrastructure delivery and performance; transformation and skills development; sustainability and infrastructure resilience and innovation; and governance and regulatory compliance.

The Summit will focus on improving performance across the entire construction value chain covering owners of infrastructure, professional service providers, contractors, material manufacturers and suppliers.

Various commissions will deliberate on key issues related to project performance that include project failures; project time and cost overruns; health and safety incidents; energy failures; poor maintenance; corruption; and site disruption; among other issues.

Key Objectives

  • Reinforce unity of purpose across government, business, and labour through a shared Performance Compact that commits all partners to ethical, transparent, and high-performing delivery.
  • Elevate confidence in South Africa’s infrastructure delivery capability.
  • Boost investor confidence in SA’s construction sector.
  • Assess the construction industry infrastructure delivery constraints and define solutions to existing challenges.
