Residents and small businesses can currently drop off one load of soft garden greens (leaves and grass cuttings only) per day at Killarney Community Recycling Centre, while the City’s Urban Waste Management Directorate is making every effort to complete the proactive work to rehabilitate the Killarney Community Recycling Centre. The maintenance and upgrades to the facility are vital to better manage stormwater on site, enhance operational safety and help ensure the service is sustainable.
The work, which is being done over two phases, is progressing well. The first phase is nearing completion, while the second phase is already under way with the City addressing any construction-related delays as a priority. Currently, it is anticipated that the garden greens section of the facility will reopen and be fully operational on 15 July 2026. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates residents’ patience and understanding until such time as the maintenance requirements are completed and the garden greens service is fully restored.Reminder
- Drop-off services for other waste types at Killarney CRC are available to the public.
- Don’t leave any waste outside the facility. Illegal dumping creates health and environmental risks and diverts resources away from essential service delivery.
